Favorites from Germany (Winter 2012)
Olympiapark in the dead of winter. Very pretty but also very cold.
The Olympiaturm was built for the 1972 Summer Olympics.
My day by myself at Olympiapark in Munich last winter. I willed myself to walk around the whole damn park. It was freezing.

Favorites from Scotland (Spring 2012)
Self-timers can get you shots like this one: 1. Go to Glasgow. 2. Put the camera on the other side of the bench. 3. Push the button. 4. Jump behind your husband so it’s not your thigh in the foreground. Also, this angel is way more interesting than the standard stand and smile variety.

Favorites from Northern Ireland (Spring 2012)
Somewhere along the Antrim Coast.
We are on the rocks… literally!

Favorites from Ireland (Spring 2012)
Even if my camera had a self-timer back in the day, I definitly wouldn’t have had the computer skills or programs to turn my burst-setting photos into an animated gif. I still have more to learn though, as you can see from the fact that we tried unsuccessfully to get a full cheers action in.
How do you know when you’re off the beaten path? When you have to open your own gate on a country road like this one in Ireland. (circa 2012)
It’s hard to make friends sitting at this size of table… don’t worry though, on the way back from the restroom Andy made friends with the bartender and immediately had me come join him inside.

Favorites from American Southwest Road (Winter 2012)
Cacti BFFs. Too cute.
The burst setting allowed us to actually get a shot of all of us in the air at once while jumping for nothing in Nothing, AZ on a road trip last winter.
Holy cow death valley was beautiful!

Favorites from Spain (Spring 2011)
By himself and totally natural looking. How does he do it?
White pants in Barcelona… don’t look too closely or you might see the remnants of mud speckles from earlier in the trip.

Pretty. Right?

Favorites from New York City (Winter 2011)
I didn’t take too many pictures that day because we all looked as bulky as this bird. It was New York last winter and it was cold. Big coats do not make for svelte looking girls.
Favorites from Greece (Fall 2010)

Favorites from Honduras (Winter 2004)
Sometimes they lend themselves to colorful photo props like this one at the Copan ruins in Honduras.
Christmas in Honduras circa 2004. While talking to a local bum, my mom said we don’t have Coca-Cola tree toppers at home. He nodded and said, “You must have a Pespi one?”

Favorites from Belize & Guatemala (Winter 2002)
A picture from that first trip to Belize… Mom and I on Laughing Bird Caye during a day of snorkeling.
I used to not really like this photo but now all I see is a happy day with my mom in Belize!
Here is my mom on that first trip. Shortly after this shot was taken, a manatee came up to the surface between our two kayaks. It was terrifying.
